Relations export- and importmodule
All relations are exported to Excel. The file contains two tabs: one for the relations themselves and one for the associated contacts.
All relations, including their associated contacts, can be exported to Excel, edited or added, and then re-imported.
The export module does not include any relations that are in the recycle bin—only active relations are exported. If the export/import button is not visible, this feature must be enabled through user permissions.
Basic rules for a successful import:
-
Do not change the layout of the Excel file.
Do not modify column headers, remove columns, or rename/delete any tabs. Do not alter the structure of the Excel file in any way. -
Values referring to predefined lists must match existing values in ControlOffice.
If a field refers to a list (e.g., a part's supplier), the value in Excel must exactly match one that already exists in ControlOffice. The import will not update or create list entries. -
Mandatory fields in ControlOffice are also mandatory in the Excel file.
For example, importing a new relation without a relation code will trigger an error. Required fields are marked with a red background in Excel.
First create a few relations manually in ControlOffice, then export them. This will give you sample rows in Excel to use as a template.
The import runs in the background, so you can continue working while it processes. Depending on the amount of data, it may take some time. If desired, a notification email can be sent when the import starts and ends. Any errors will be listed in that email.
