Working with the ControlOffice App
The ControlOffice app provides field users with all the options to work directly from their phone or tablet. Whether you're creating and/or approving reports, generating and completing work orders, logging hours, or issuing parts, the app fully supports your tasks.
Installing the App
The ControlOffice app can be accessed and/or installed in two ways:
-
Install the ControlOffice app via the Play Store (Android) or App Store (Apple).
(Available from early May — exact date to follow.) -
Go to the website app.controloffice.nl and use the app from there. This works on phones, tablets, and also on laptops/PCs.
If you access the app via a browser, the browser may also offer to install the app. Sometimes this happens automatically, otherwise it can be done manually depending on the browser:
| Browser | How to Install |
|---|---|
| Apple Safari | Tap the icon in the middle at the bottom and choose: “Add to Home Screen” |
| Chrome | Tap the three dots in the top-right corner and choose: “Add to Home screen” |
| Edge | Tap the three lines in the bottom-right corner (hamburger menu) and choose: “Add to phone” |
Login
To log in, ControlOffice requires you to enter three pieces of information:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| URL | Enter the URL of your ControlOffice web application, including https://. |
| Username | Enter your username (the same one used for the ControlOffice web application). |
| Password | Enter your password (also the same as used for the web application). |
You can also scan the URL and username. Next to the URL field in the app, there is a QR code icon. Tap it to scan a QR code.
The QR code can be found within the ControlOffice web application:
-
Log in to ControlOffice in your browser using your username and password.
-
Click the arrow next to your username in the top-right corner to open the menu.
-
Select “Login with QR”.
-
Scan the displayed QR code with your phone.
The app will automatically fill in your URL and username.
You only need to confirm your identity by entering your password.

Explanation Per Menu Type (Work Orders, Requests, Objects, Meter Readings, and Stock Correction)
To optimize using the app, QR codes are ideal. In ControlOffice, QR code labels can be printed for objects, parts, and meters.
By applying these labels where needed, app users can easily scan them to, for example, create a request or work order for an object, update a meter reading, or issue a part.
Work Orders
For all menu items related to work orders, orders can be created and opened here. Create a work order via the + icon, open one by tapping on it.
Once inside a work order, all fields in the Detail tab can be filled in and edited — such as status, priority, and planned date. This functions the same as in ControlOffice. Additional tabs are available for more features; swipe between tabs to navigate. From a work order, you can also click through to the object, e.g., to view its history.
| Tab Name | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Detail | Contains the basic information of the work order such as requester, object, and status. The layout of this tab is configurable in the settings. |
| Activities | Enter desired activities. Each can include a result, comment, and status. Activities can be carried over to a follow-up work order and may also be imported from a checklist. |
| Parts | Plan and/or issue parts. Planned parts may also be imported from a checklist. Issued parts are automatically added to the Bill of Materials (BOM) of the object. |
| Employees | Track employees on the work order. An employee can view their hours and mark themselves or others as finished. |
| Requests | If the work order originated from a request, it will be shown here. Additional requests can also be linked. |
| Tools | Log tools used in the work order. |
| Costs | Shows costs incurred for the work order. |
| Objects | Link additional objects to the work order. |
| Forms | Attach relevant forms to the work order. |
| Attachments | Attach files such as photos, Word, Excel, or PDF documents. |
Requests
For all menu items related to requests, requests can be created and opened here. Create one via the + icon, open by tapping on it.
Once inside a request, all fields in the Detail tab can be filled and edited — such as the object, type, and description. This works similarly to ControlOffice. Additional tabs are available and can be accessed by swiping.
| Tab Name | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Detail | Contains the basic information of the request such as requester, object, and status. Configurable via the request layout settings. |
| Objects | Link additional objects to the request. |
| Forms | Attach relevant forms to the request. |
| Work Order | If the request has been converted to a work order, it is visible here. |
| Costs | Displays the costs related to the request. |
| Attachments | Attach files such as photos, Word, Excel, or PDF documents. |
Objects
Here, all objects can be opened, and their associated information viewed. You can search for an object using filters (e.g., object code or description), or scan the object code.
Objects also include additional tabs for extended information.
| Tab Name | Function |
|---|---|
| Detail | Basic information like code and description. |
| Bill of Materials | Components that make up the object (BOM). |
| Sub-objects | Sub-objects associated with the object. |
| History | History of the object, including work orders, requests, hours, issued parts, and costs. |
| Contracts | Contracts applicable to the object. |
| Meters | The object’s meter(s). |
| Attachments | The object’s attached files. |
